Vink Chemicals specializes in biocidal active ingredients as well as biocidal formulations and develops comprehensive chemical solutions for challenges in the fields of technical preservation and oil and fuel treatment, in synergy with worldwide sourcing of specialty chemicals. Now, the company is forming a partnership with Nanox, the Brazilian expert in nanoparticle-based silver products.

Nanox Intelligent Materials develops, produces, and markets nanostructured materials for everyday products and supplies industries such as retail, food and textile industries, as well as architecture and design. The company specializes in the use of inorganic biocides based on silver nanoparticles.

“Nanox's inorganic biocides are an ideal complement to our product line of Technical Biocides,” explains David Zilm, Chief Sales Officer of Vink Chemicals. Unlike the organic biocides from Vink Chemicals, inorganic biocides are designed for long-term preservation and protection of surfaces against microorganisms. They are also used where organic biocides cannot be applied, such as in paper packaging, masterbatches, rubbers, or resins.

Organic and inorganic biocides

For applications such as plastic or paper packaging for the food industry or paints used in medical facilities like hospitals, Vink Chemicals will take over the distribution of Nanox biocides outside of Brazil in the future. Within the country, Vink also offers the products in areas where Nanox is not active itself, such as polymers, silicon, wood, and food. In return, Nanox Intelligent Materials will also offer its customers within the domestic Brazilian market the organic biocides from Vink Chemicals.

After both companies signed a joint Letter of Interest in December 2021, the structures for collaboration are currently being established, including technical training for sales, market assessment, and the development of an action plan.
