ALTMANN GmbH in Albaching expands capacities
A crane testing stand is the heart of the new hall
Even in crane construction, the increasing level of automation leads to ever larger and more complex projects. To implement these more quickly, ALTMANN has expanded its manufacturing and storage capacities by building a new hall. After a 5-month construction phase, not only is an additional 720 sqm of manufacturing space available, but through simultaneous restructuring, 144 sqm of office space has also been added. This allows the expert in lifting technology to accommodate the growing workforce, currently with 40 employees, and also to create jobs for future staff.
The expansion of storage capacities was used by the crane manufacturer to introduce a new inventory management system that optimizes internal material flow. Conditions are also ideal for trainees, as the new hall additionally houses a training workshop for mechatronics and machining mechanics. The highlight of the new building is undoubtedly the installation of a test stand for cranes up to 30 meters span and 30 tons lifting capacity. A rarity among crane manufacturers, it allows for the testing of multi-axis movements with overlay. Thanks to this test stand, ALTMANN can particularly shorten commissioning times during automation projects at customer sites. The completion of a second ring road to optimize truck loading and unloading as well as reduce waiting and maneuvering times completes the construction measures in the Albachinger industrial area.
