Packaging Line

At interpack 2014, Multivac presents a turnkey end-to-end thermoforming packaging line that meets the highest demands for flexibility, ergonomics, and precision. Multivac customers benefit from the advantages of sourcing all components from a single provider: full integration of line modules, compatible interfaces, uniform operator control, and a single point of contact.

The packaging line presented at interpack consists of the thermoforming machine R 245, the cross-web labeler MRQ equipped with a thermal transfer printer TTO, the checkweigher MR822, a MULTIVAC conveyor system MBS 100, and an automatic stacking unit. For direct printing on the packaging film, the R 245 is equipped with a film direct printing system MR293 TT.

Quick changeover to other packaging formats

The high-performance thermoforming machine R 245 is equipped with modules that ensure maximum flexibility and quick changeover to different packaging formats. These include the proven Multivac drawer system for easy switching of the forming and sealing tools, foldable side frames, and a quick-change film system. The handling of tools is significantly simplified with the use of the tool change trolley WW 220.

The servo-driven lifting mechanisms of the R 245 have the advantage that their movements can be precisely controlled in terms of speed and opening width. This allows the lifting movements to be optimally adapted to different film thicknesses. It also simplifies format changes, as parameters can be stored in the recipe memory of the thermoforming machine.

Heated side frames

The operation of the R 245 is particularly ergonomic, as the machine is equipped with the intuitive user interface Multivac HMI 2.0. Additionally, the R 245 features heated side frames that make the work environment more comfortable for operators in the often cold production surroundings.

Additional line components

The cross-web labeler MRQ and the thermal transfer printer TTO from Multivac Marking & Inspection are optimized for use on Multivac packaging machines. Their operation is fully integrated into the Multivac HMI 2.0 interface.

The checkweigher MR822 also comes from Multivac Marking & Inspection. Its conveyor belt and weighing modules are mounted on a robust double-arm support, allowing almost any configuration of different belt modules. For maximum weighing accuracy, the overall construction is designed to be torsionally stiff, distortion-free, and vibration-dampening.

The Multivac conveyor system MBS 100 ensures the separation of packages after sealing.

Using an automatic stacking unit allows the manual carton packing process to be automated and greatly simplified. The Pack Stacker from Multivac can be integrated into the control system of end-of-line modules. This also enables uniform recipe management within the operational data collection (BDE) of the entire packaging line.
