The 4th Conference on "DEBURRING and CLEANING" addresses the possibilities for quality-relevant manufacturing steps such as deburring and cleaning. When manufacturing high-quality components, besides the actual production processes, such as machining, forging, and additive manufacturing, upstream and downstream processes like deburring and cleaning are increasingly coming into focus. The 4th Conference on "DEBURRING and CLEANING" presents solutions and knowledge to carry out these quality- and cost-critical manufacturing steps reliably and economically. The event by fairXperts GmbH & Co. KG will take place on April 6 and 7, 2016, at the K3N in Nuremberg.

On the first day, the focus is on deburring and the production of precision surfaces. Experts from industry and research will present various methods and their application possibilities. The range includes new developments for deburring with defined cutting edges, brush and industrial high-pressure deburring of small parts, and flexible, process-safe removal of burrs with industrial robots. Innovative solutions for high-tech barrel finishing, thermal deburring, electrochemical machining, and ultrasonic deburring are additional technologies covered by the conference. Furthermore, measurement techniques will be introduced to detect burr residues and to visually measure and evaluate edges. The presentation on the potentials and possibilities of 3D printing and its impact on the deburring and cleaning processes transitions into the second day, which centers on industrial component cleaning.

The presentations are divided into three thematic blocks. The session "Basic knowledge for the right process solution" provides information on the fundamentals of cleaning metal surfaces and the optimal application of corrosion protection to reliably safeguard parts. Another presentation deals with analysis methods for detecting particulate and film contamination. The talks in the "Technical solutions for efficient component cleaning" block cover the basics for selecting systems for aqueous and solvent cleaning, as well as specific cleaning procedures and their applications. Additionally, solutions for verifying the cleanliness of metal surfaces and measurement technology for monitoring cleaning processes are discussed. The third thematic block features "Example solutions for cleaning metal surfaces," including the cleaning of stamped parts for electromechanical applications, contract cleaning, and contactless cleaning of surfaces with light, demonstrated through practical examples.
