A state-of-the-art cleanroom laundry is being built in the Greater Dresden area.

Initial Cleanrooms has invested several million euros in its new location with 2,200 square meters of usable space in Radeburg near Dresden. The European market and technology leader for textile cleanroom solutions in rental service is creating around 70 jobs here. The opening of the high-performance laundry is planned for spring 2017.

The location is perfectly chosen. The region around Dresden is considered Germany's Silicon Valley, home primarily to the semiconductor industry. In this sector, as well as in many other industries such as biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, there is a high demand for high-quality services for decontamination of cleanroom clothing, with demanding requirements for their functionality and availability. "Short distances and thus quick response times are particularly important for cleanroom services. We are building Smart Cleanrooms (high-tech cleanroom laundries) close to customers to ensure the operational capability of our clients in sensitive corporate areas. The choice of Dresden as the location is based on one of our key customers in the pharmaceutical sector," explains Nicola Cassanelli, General Manager of Initial Cleanrooms Europe.

The new cleanroom laundry was planned on a roughly 9,000-square-meter site entirely according to Initial's requirements, "on the greenfield." Cleanrooms with state-of-the-art technology for decontamination, drying, and steam sterilization of cleanroom clothing will form the core of the production area. Initial places particular emphasis on the ecological balance of its new facility. To reduce energy and water consumption, the company uses the latest technology such as heat and water recovery systems.

For Initial Cleanrooms Europe, Dresden is the sixth state-of-the-art cleanroom laundry in Europe, alongside locations in Paris and Lyon in France, Eindhoven in the Netherlands, and two plants in Reutlingen. Through this expansion of the network of locations, Initial customers benefit even more from the company's intelligent failure safety concept. This ensures maximum performance and supply security. If a plant experiences capacity outages due to unforeseen events, the other locations will take over its orders, so the workflows of customers are not jeopardized.
