340 square meters of expertise in tool and mold making
The VDWF at Fakuma
From October 16 to 20, 2018, the plastics industry will gather in Friedrichshafen for the 26th Fakuma. 31 member companies of the Association of German Tool and Mold Makers (VDWF) will present themselves and their product portfolio at the VDWF joint booth, which has long become a fixture of the trade fair.
With an exhibition space of 340 square meters – the second-largest trade fair participation of the association – the VDWF has been participating for many years in one of the most important industry events. In addition to numerous companies from tool and mold making, so to speak the core competence of the VDWF, the supply and service industries will also showcase their expertise, including material suppliers, hot runner manufacturers, specialized companies for eroded technology, software providers, design offices, and experts in polishing, hardening, and coating, all around plastics technology and ready for technical discussions.
As a special highlight, the Polyman project will be on display at the association's joint booth via virtual reality on all trade fair days. As a reminder: the Polyman is a handy piece of plastic that has caused a sensation in the training of tool and mold makers. The two-component application, which originates from half a plastic-appropriate and half a non-plastic-appropriate component design, combines all the good and all the bad from the practical world of injection molding in one part and makes this immediately recognizable. Fakuma visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the virtual reality of this piece using 3D glasses: the glass-animated tool allows viewers to dive into the injection molding process and the cavity, experiencing firsthand the dos and don’ts of component-appropriate and plastics-compatible tool design.
On Wednesday evening, October 17, VDWF also invites all trade fair visitors directly after the end of the trade day from 5:00 PM to the traditional stand party. Located in the middle of Hall B2, this will be an opportunity to learn about the latest news from the trade fair and the industry in a relaxed atmosphere.
