25 Years of COLANDIS

In May of this year, COLANDIS GmbH celebrates its 25th anniversary. On this occasion, the company sincerely thanks all partners who have supported and promoted them over the years and have stood by their side during these 25 years.

COLANDIS GmbH is a contact and consulting firm in the field of cleanroom technology. With extensive, professional knowledge and many years of experience in cleanroom technology, the company supports its customers from process analysis, through development and manufacturing, to qualification of individual products, as well as with cleanroom and cleanliness suitability testing. From cabins to clean air workstations and mini environments to equipment enclosures, there is a suitable solution for every requirement. On behalf of clients, assemblies and machines are cleaned by specialized personnel and properly packaged for use in a clean environment.

COLANDIS GmbH actively shapes the framework conditions across all industries and has been represented for many years on various committees and boards. Especially within VDI - Association of German Engineers - and VDMA - German Engineering Federation - the company contributes its expertise and experience at the national level. In the SEMI - Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International - Standards Committee, influence is also exerted internationally on the globally applicable guidelines in the semiconductor industry.
The company has been successfully participating in various competitions for years, such as "Entrepreneurs in Responsibility." For the "Great Prize of Medium-Sized Businesses," the company has been nominated for several years and was selected as the winner in 2018.

COLANDIS GmbH was founded as "Cleanroom Technology Jena" on May 1, 1996. Initially, the company's premises consisted of a 40 m² office space and a 40 m² garage in Kahla. In the following years, the company participated in numerous trade fairs, such as Cleanzone, elmug4future, Precision Fair, Productronica, SEMICON Europe, and SEMIEXPO Russia. Through continuous knowledge expansion and commitment around the topic of mini environments, well-known and large companies became aware of the company, ensuring growth.

From 1998 to 2003, "Cleanroom Technology Jena" was relocated to Winzergasse in Jena, where approximately 300 m² of space was available for the company. However, it quickly became clear that this space would not suffice for long. The solution was to be found in Kahla. The company was established there on April 1, 2003. The fully air-conditioned building achieves at least ISO 8 cleanroom class in the manufacturing area and additionally has a CO2 cleaning cabin, an ISO 5 cleaning laboratory, and two cleanrooms of classes ISO 5 and ISO 1. The ISO 1 cleanroom is primarily used for cleanliness suitability testing or operational equipment measurements.
What started as an idea based on an office with a small workbench grew from a one-man business into COLANDIS GmbH with over 30 employees and an office and manufacturing space of approximately 2,000 m². Since 2016, the family-owned company has also secured succession. The vision to support others with their ideas and projects will continue to live on in the coming years.
