14 new iOS apps: Customers can always and everywhere rely on igus

Over 30 online tools make finding, configuring, and ordering energy chains, cables, and bearing technology particularly easy for igus customers. For those who not only work at the PC but are also mobile, there is now the option to additionally access 14 motion plastics apps in the Apple App Store. The web-independent quick access not only saves time but is also simple and comfortable. And worldwide, because the iOS apps are available in 15 languages.

At Motek 2015, igus will showcase 175 new plastic solutions for moving applications that reduce costs and increase the lifespan of the application. In addition to product development, the motion plastics specialist is investing more heavily in digital networking of the entire process chain, from customer inquiry to commissioning of the predominantly custom-configured applications, in the spirit of Industry 4.0.

Expert app finds, configures, and calculates

The results from the igus test laboratory — with over 120 test systems and 1,750 square meters, the largest of its kind in the industry — are continuously integrated into the over 30 online tools that make it as easy as possible for customers to find, configure, and order, thereby saving time. Many of these online tools, such as the cable lifespan calculator or the plain bearing expert, are accessible via browser on mobile devices. Already at this year's Hannover Messe, igus announced plans to promote mobile use further through proprietary apps. Each igus app generally relates to a product category. Examples include the e-chain product finder for travel lengths up to 13 meters, the readychain hose line configurator, or the xiros ball bearing lifespan calculator. There are thus product finders, configurators, and lifespan calculators, with expert apps like the drylin linear guides expert combining all these categories for a specific product group. The apps are designed entirely with user-friendliness in mind, so buyers and assembly workers can navigate them intuitively. For example, the semi-finished product finder: simply select requirements such as underwater use, dirt resistance, or vibration damping, define the temperature range, and the suitable materials are immediately displayed.

From Spanish to Korean

The iOS apps are not only free but are also available from the start in German, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Spanish, traditional and simplified Chinese, as well as Czech and Turkish. More apps are planned to help customers select the right product for their application from igus's extensive catalog of over 100,000 standard items.
