The Portuguese company Laborial S.A. has won the Cleanroom Award 2013.

Cleanzone

For the second time, on October 23, 2013, the Cleanroom Award Innovation Prize was awarded at Cleanzone, the trade fair and congress for cleanroom technology, in Frankfurt am Main, by the Cleanroom Academy.

From numerous applications from various nations, such as Germany, Belgium, Portugal, and the USA, a panel of experts initially selected five projects. Ultimately, however, the visitors of Cleanzone decided the winner by voting. This year, the €3,000 endowed innovation prize went to the project "Blautouch" by the Portuguese company Laborial S.A., which was represented at Cleanzone by its cooperation partner Basan GmbH.

"Blautouch" is an interactive laboratory table with a hygienic touchscreen surface according to GMP guidelines, specifically developed for cleanrooms and other sterile environments. The work surface consists of glass, beneath which the interactive touch system is installed, combining all computer devices such as monitor, keyboard, and mouse. This has the advantage that there are no sources of contamination at the workstation. The durable and smooth glass surface is also easy to clean and disinfect. The operation of the touch system is possible either via fingers, gloves, or a capacitive stylus, ensuring that wearing gloves does not hinder operation.
