Stefan Erens

Stefan Erens was born in 1970 in Kempen (North Rhine-Westphalia) and studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Niederrhein. Afterwards, he began his professional career at Shimadzu in the sales field for analytical instruments.

In 1996, he moved to Astrid Twardy GmbH – a medium-sized OTC pharmaceutical manufacturer – where he took over the management of the analytical laboratory.

His first experiences in the engineering sector were gained from 2000 at Triplan AG, where he implemented projects in qualification and validation for renowned pharmaceutical companies.

Three years later, he coordinated projects in cleanroom and HVAC systems as a project manager at LSMW GmbH (now M+W Process Industries GmbH).

Since 2005, he has been working at Testo Industrial Services GmbH, initially in business development and project management in the areas of cleanrooms and GMP compliance.

Since 2009, he has been leading the technical service department with now 80 employees, and from 2011, he has been managing sales for GMP services. In 2012, he was appointed as a commercial agent.

His guiding principle has always been: the focus is on people – both on the customer side and on the employee side.

What did you want to be as a child?
Carpenter

What was your first car?
A Bobbycar, the first motorized car was a leaf frog green 1st generation Golf, built in 1974.

What can you be happy about?
Every unexpected event with a positive turn.

Which achievement are you particularly proud of?
Building a powerful team characterized by an extraordinary team spirit – our TIS spirit (Note: TIS = Testo Industrial Services).

Which technical achievement do you admire the most?
The Haber-Bosch process (ammonia synthesis), which makes atmospheric nitrogen available for plants and produces fertilizers.

Who would you like to swap places with for a month?
An astronaut on the ISS.

In which country would you like to have a second residence?
At Lake Garda in Italy.

Whom would you like to have met?
Albert Einstein

Which book would you currently recommend?
"Trust Leads" by Reinhard K. Sprenger.

What is your favorite food?
Beef steak & salad; as a guilty pleasure: currywurst with fries and mayonnaise.

What is your favorite music?
Anything danceable, also preferably a bit faster.

What was the best advice you ever received?
From my mother: Accept people as they are – there are no others.

Do you have a motto?
It is what it is – it kicks as it kicks – it always went well.
