Roman Czech
Eng. Roman Czech MBA, born and raised in Vienna, married with two children aged 7 and 9.
After technical and economic schooling, joined the family business Czech GmbH as a technician in 1995, subsequently taking on technical management, procurator, and ultimately CEO.
Founded his own company, Cleanroom Technology Austria, in 2008. Chairman of the Austrian Cleanroom Society, active in several working groups and committees of the Austrian Standards Institute, VDI, and CEN.
What did you want to become as a child?
Stuntman, detective.
What was your first car?
VW Beetle (with non-switchable heater).
What do you look forward to?
Whenever I could optimize something.
Which achievement are you particularly proud of?
Our company! Since our restart in 2008, we have not only built on a more stable "foundation," but through team spirit and solidarity, we are now where we once only dreamed of.
Which technical achievement do you admire most?
Not Felix Baumgartner's jump ;-) The real technical achievements are the 7 wonders of the world. Achieving such feats with the resources available at the time is admirable.
Who would you like to swap places with for a month?
A hotel manager. It would be a pleasure for me to run the "ideal" hotel in the sense of a service business.
In which country would you like to have a second residence?
Greece! There I would have the necessary peace and serenity to recharge my energy.
Who would you like to meet?
Reinhold Messner. A man with a very strong character. But perhaps I will meet him someday...
Which book would you recommend right now?
The Old Man and the Sea. I can identify strongly with him, even though I haven't reached his age yet ;-)
What is your favorite food?
Tyrolean Griessl, I could eat it every day.
What is your favorite music?
Jazz, but only since a few years.
What was the best advice you've ever received?
Always put yourself in your opponent's shoes.
