Rino Woyczyk
2008 he did it: Rino Woyczyk turned his back on Swabia to move to the Bavarian metropolis of Munich. Until that point, the life sciences expert from the Stuttgart consulting firm Drees & Sommer remained loyal to the state capital. From birth through childhood and youth to graduation and diploma, he checked everything off in Stuttgart.
After studying civil engineering, Rino Woyczyk initially joined Drees & Sommer in 1989 as a project manager. Only nine years later, he became managing director and partner – initially at the Stuttgart location and then in Munich. He has been advising and managing a variety of projects for over 20 years now. Woyczyk primarily focuses on fast-track projects in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical technology sectors. But complex bank and administrative buildings are also on the list of projects he oversees.
The native Stuttgart resident has been sharing his knowledge and experience with students for many years. Woyczyk has taught not only at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences ("International Project Management") but also at the University of Stuttgart ("Real Estate Technology and Real Estate Economics"). Since 2010, he has been passing on his knowledge as a guest lecturer to students at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences.
From 2013, he has been responsible for the entire Drees & Sommer group’s Life Sciences expert team domestically and abroad. Additionally, Rino Woyczyk has been a board member of the pharmaceutical association VIP 3000 e.V. since 2008.
What did you want to become as a child?
Housing construction architect. Around the age of 12, I realized my dream apartment: on a sheet of paper.
What was your first car?
A mint green Opel Kadett C.
What do you look forward to?
I love finding solutions. I am a born "tinkerer". Everything that is tricky or in some way unusual and not immediately solvable makes me happy – especially when I have found the solution.
What achievement are you particularly proud of?
On the one hand, I am proud of building the Life Sciences division of Drees & Sommer; on the other hand, of my family. It is no longer a given that a family sticks together, even if you may not be able to spend as much time together at times. My wife and my three children make me incredibly proud and happy.
Which technical achievement do you admire the most?
Electricity, its production, and distribution. For almost everyone, it is self-evident that electricity flows from the socket. It is a gigantic technical achievement that permeates all areas of life.
Who would you like to swap lives with for a month?
With my secretary. I believe that the job can be incredibly fun – provided you work for a nice, well-structured boss.
In which country would you like to have a second residence?
In Italy. I love Lake Garda.

The cabaret artist Dieter Hildebrandt.
Which book would you recommend right now?
"The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared" by Jonas Jonasson.
What is your favorite food?
Pizza Calzone.

Pop, rock 'n' roll, oldies from the 70s/80s.
What was the best advice you ever received?
Listen and let others finish before you answer.
Do you have a motto?
Always prioritize and complete tasks immediately. I have always gone well with this motto.
