Markus Thamm
Markus Thamm gained his first experiences in development and design right after his studies as Dipl. Ing. (FH) in the field of precision mechanics at Litef in Freiburg, working on navigation instruments. In 1993, he began his career in technical sales and marketing.
Mr. Thamm was responsible for establishing several international sales and service organizations, all in the field of microtechnology. The various products provided him with a broad and very solid insight into necessary technologies. Over the course of his career, Mr. Thamm founded several organizations, including his own consulting firm Salcon International in 2005. Many of his engagements have since been successfully sold.
Since 2012, Mr. Thamm has been responsible for sales and marketing at cleanroom.de GmbH. The goal is to bring innovative products into the cleanroom industry and to create efficient solutions with new approaches.
The webshop operated by mycleanroom offers the complete cleanroom supply, along with consulting, all from a single source.
In the meantime, some new products have been developed and successfully marketed through the mycleanroom shop. The self-developed products mycleanroomVR and mycleanroomAR set new standards in a holistic training concept.
What did you want to become as a child?
I decided at the age of 11 that I wanted to become an engineer and also to establish and run my own company like my father someday.
What was your first car?
A Talbot Samba.
What do you look forward to?
Through my studies, I developed a very close connection to watches and can really enjoy the mechanical marvels. Additionally, I love riding my mountain bike over the Alps with my friends.
Which achievement are you particularly proud of?
Together with my wife, I have managed to grow the cleanroom.de GmbH into a solid player in the cleanroom industry.
Which technical achievement do you admire the most?
Generally, I admire technological progress and the speed at which new technologies are created and implemented.
Who would you like to swap places with for a month?
I am so satisfied with my current situation that I wouldn’t want to swap with anyone.
In which country would you like to have a second residence?
I enjoy every minute I can spend in Spain.
Who would you like to meet?
As a confirmed Apple fan, I would very much like to meet Steve Jobs and would have enjoyed learning more about his views and strategies.
Which book would you currently recommend?
The Path to a Successful Entrepreneur by Stefan Merath.
What is your favorite food?
I like a good steak but also Asian cuisine.
What is your favorite music?
A good mix, I enjoy listening to everything from pop, rock to classical at the right time.
What was the best advice you ever received?
Don’t get upset about things you can’t change yourself.
Do you have a motto?
You don’t just live once, you only die once, but you live every day.
