Markus Hansel
Markus Hansel was born in 1970 in Biedenkopf / Hesse. After training as a steel mold maker, he first attended the technical secondary school for metals at the vocational school in Biedenkopf and then completed further training as an environmental protection technician specializing in process engineering at the vocational schools in Frankenberg. Since 2000, he has been employed at EJOT GmbH & Co. KG in Bad Berleburg / North Rhine-Westphalia.
After one year of company affiliation with EJOT, Markus Hansel transferred to the Materials Technology department in 2001. In 2009, he was first confronted with the topic of "Technical Cleanliness." He soon focused on establishing an in-house testing laboratory for cleanliness examinations and was a member of a working group for the introduction of "Technical Cleanliness" at EJOT. Within the working group, the concept "EJOCLEAN" was developed. Since May 2014, he has been working as "Product Manager EJOCLEAN."
In 2012, he co-founded the company PartikelXpert with Stefan Marquardt as a side business. PartikelXpert is engaged in developing a "Standard for Cleanliness Examinations" according to VDA 19 and has already successfully established it on the market. For the development of the standard, PartikelXpert was awarded 1st place at the "Clean2014" Purity Technology Award by the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation (IPA).
What did you want to become as a child?
Astronaut.
What was your first car?
My grandfather's Fiat Panda.
What can you look forward to?
To the time I can spend with my family.
Which achievement are you particularly proud of?
The development of the "Standard for Cleanliness Examinations" and its market launch.
Which technical achievement do you admire the most?
Space travel.
Who would you like to swap lives with for a month?
Peter Lustig from the children's series "Löwenzahn".
In which country would you like to have a second residence?
In Italy, at Lake Maggiore.
Who would you like to have met?
My great-grandfather. He generated electricity with the help of a water-driven mill wheel at a time when harnessing electricity was just beginning.
Which book would you currently recommend?
"The Long Walk to Freedom" by Nelson Mandela.
What is your favorite food?
Currywurst with fries.
What is your favorite music?
Everything, from classical to hard rock.
What was the best advice you've ever received?
Set realistic goals and don't give up before reaching a goal.

Not to take things and oneself too seriously.
