Dr. Hans H. Schicht
Dr. Hans H. Schicht studied Mechanical Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and earned his doctorate in Process Engineering. On his first day of subsequent industrial activity, he was confronted with cleanroom technology – a topic that became the guiding thread of his professional career.
After 20 years in industry (including 7 years in Brazil), he has been a management consultant on topics related to cleanroom technology and contamination control since 1991. He has participated worldwide as a speaker at many events, organized conferences, conducted training courses, and is the author of numerous articles.
Until a few years ago, he represented Switzerland on the standards committees ISO/TC 209 and CEN/TC 243 – both dedicated to cleanroom technology.
He served as President of the Swiss Society for Cleanroom Technology from 1987 to 1994, is an honorary member of the Brazilian and Egyptian societies for cleanroom technology, and a Fellow of the American Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST).
Other memberships include ISPE (International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering), PDA (Parenteral Drug Association), PHSS (The Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Sciences Society), and VDI.
He also served for many years as the Swiss representative on the technical committee for cleanroom technology of TGA/VDI.

Aircraft builder

A light blue Renault Dauphine, with 27 HP and a hand crank for winter starting
What can you be happy about?
e.g., the melodious song of a blackbird in spring
Which achievement are you particularly proud of?
Having initiated a company that was awarded as a key supplier of an ISPE Facility of the Year in its 10th year of existence
Which technical achievement do you admire the most?
It's hard to choose among candidates, but my gut clearly says: the rapid development of aircraft construction
Whom would you like to swap places with for a month?
No one: that would constantly expose you to meticulous comparison
In which country would you like to have a second residence?
In none: hotels offer more flexibility

What is your favorite food?
Cabbage rolls (in northern Germany called: Kohlrouladen), which I prepare myself

Classical music from Handel to Shostakovich, especially operas: my favorites are *Don Giovanni* (Mozart) and *Chowanschtschina* (Mussorgsky)
What was the best advice you ever received?
It came from my wife: to accept a job offer in Brazil. Those were the most exciting years for the whole family
