Egon Buchta
Born in 1957 in the Black Forest, Egon Buchta spent his school years in Freudenstadt. This was followed by training as a toolmaker and engineer (mechanical engineering) at the FH in Reutlingen.
In 1985, he started as a project engineer at Prettl Cleanroom Technology, technical management, and product development at Steag LaminarFlow & Process Technology.
Since 1994, he has been self-employed as a service provider and engineering office in cleanroom areas.
In 2004, he established the company as Engineering Office & Cleanroom Service Egon Buchta GmbH.
Since 1989, he has been active in the Safety Workbenches Working Group of the Standards Committee for Laboratory Equipment and Laboratory Facilities (FNLa) of DIN. For the past 10 years, he has been working as a lecturer training service technicians at the IHK Middle Lower Rhine (Neuss).
Married, with 3 adult children.
What did you want to become as a child?
Crane operator or inventor.
What was your first car?
Renault R5 with manual transmission, followed by Mini 1000.
What can you be happy about?
A funny comic film, and a smile.
Which achievement are you particularly proud of?
Being self-employed for 20 years.
Which technical achievement do you admire the most?
The use of electrical power.
Who would you like to swap places with for a month?
A pilot, e.g., for supply flights.
In which country would you like to have a second residence?
In Slovenia. I always have good memories of the country and its people.

Asterix and the Picts.
What is your favorite food?
Regional cuisine throughout Germany, depending on location and season.
What is your favorite music?
Rock and oldies, played with friends.
What was the best advice you ever received?
After my training as a toolmaker, to definitely continue and pursue a degree.
