Cleanroom technology to touch at the item cleanroom center

In their new ICC in Solingen, item Industrietechnik GmbH presents functional total solutions for the cleanroom.

The laminar flow box with height-adjustable work table is an example of ergonomic working under controlled conditions. In addition, item features a walk-in cleanroom with integrated personnel lock, a machine enclosure with linear unit, and a mobile cleanroom tent.

Modular, individual, flexible: with the item system construction kit, cleanrooms for different requirements can be realized. How diverse these solutions can look in practice is demonstrated by the company in the new item cleanroom center (icc) in Solingen – from walk-in cleanrooms to machine cabins with live airflow visualization to laminar flow boxes with height-adjustable work tables.

With its new showroom, item Industrial Technology GmbH illustrates how well-thought-out components for the cleanroom become functional total solutions. Over an area of approximately 56 m², several scenarios from pure production are combined. For example, a 6-meter-long walk-in cleanroom with an integrated personnel lock and optical access control is included. Additionally, item shows a machine cabin with linear unit, demonstrating how efficient and ISO-compliant cleanroom automation can be achieved. The airflow behavior within this machine cabin is visualized by an integrated fog generator. Furthermore, the cleanroom contains a laminar flow box with a height-adjustable work table, exemplifying ergonomic work under controlled conditions. A mobile cleanroom tent demonstrates how temporary or scalable cleanroom solutions can be quickly implemented. The basis of all constructions are the aluminum profiles of the X and XMS series, which offer closed outer surfaces, minimal edge radius, and high chemical resistance. In combination with the framing system and suitable surface elements, this creates cleanroom walls and ceilings with seamless transitions.

Showroom open to visitors

Visitors can experience not only various cleanroom solutions live but also get an impression of the quality, modularity, and adaptability of the item system construction kit on site. Tours of the icc are possible by appointment in advance. During the guided tour, a cleanroom expert explains technical backgrounds and application possibilities. Additionally, the icc serves as a space for training, internal testing, and the further development of new cleanroom solutions.

With the new showroom, item demonstrates how applications can be adapted to individual requirements – ideal for companies that want to flexibly expand, modify, or redesign cleanrooms.
